The new Passion CD is awesome! There are some new songs and some old ones which make it a pretty good CD. The older songs include Let God Arise; Shine; Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone); Dancing Generation; You are God; and We Shine.
All of these songs are good in themselves but the newer recordings include Walk this World, God of Yesterdays and 3 of my new favorites Sing, Sing, Sing; Hosanna; and God of this City.
The title track is a great song with a great message behind it- This song came as a prophecy from a band called Blue Tree when they were on a mission trip in Padi, Thailand. Padi has over 30,000 prostitutes over the age of 18. This number doesn’t include men or children.
While Blue Tree was on this mission trip they were allowed to play in a Brothel and the only thing that the people who ran the brothel said that everyone who came with the band needed to buy a coke. While they were playing there this song came forth and it was given to them by God.
Here are the lyrics and a video (not of Chris Tomlin singing this song but more of the song being put into practice with Tomlin singing in the background.)
Check out the lyrics yourself…
You’re the God of this city,
You’re the King of these people,
You’re the Lord of this nation. You are.
You’re the light in this darkness,
You’re the hope to the hope to the hopeless,
You’re the peace to the restless. You are.
There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
For greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
And here is the video…
[...] well, maybe next year. Anyway, the service ended with the band leading us in one more worship song, God of this City by Chris Tomlin. [...]
